About the Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2001 in Narayana Engineering College, Gudur. It offers UnderGraduate (UG) programme in Electronics Communication Engineering & Post Graduate (PG) programme in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems (DECS).The Department has well equipped laboratories such as Communication Lab, Advanced Microprocessor Lab, Electronic Circuits Lab, Microwave Lab, DSP Lab , Optical Fiber Communication Lab. The Department has highly educated faculty members having a vast experience in their fields. The Department has a well-balanced workforce having experience in academics and in Industries. Students are given education as well as training exposure in order to get placed in highly reputed MNCs.

Exposure as well as training is provided to the students for advanced studies and various guest lecturers are conducted on time to time basis to facilitate the students and create awareness on latest technologies. Industrial visits and practical projects are also encouraged by the department in various sectors; students are taken out to industries for practical understanding of the technology. The Department has a very rich history of providing technical education in the field of Engineering and its achievements. With the support of the excellent Management of the institute and the strong backbone faculty and staff, we place the department as one of the best in the institute as well as the country in coming times.

Research and Development Cell was established with the state-of-the art facilities recently and starting from its inception, the R&D cell is rapidly spreading its activities to enhance the practical learning skills of the students and to design and develop the technical applications useful for the college.
In order to strengthen the student interest in research and hardware implementation activities ,in addition to the course syllabi we have made research and development activities as a part of their academic curriculum.
We have framed a separate R&D syllabi for II,III,IV B.Tech students and to cover this in parallel to the academics, we are going include a special R&D hour in their academic time-tables.
We are guiding our final B.Tech students to accomplish their project works in the R&D Cell.
As a first achievement from our R&D cell we have implemented a circuit to avoid the water tank over-flow and to control the motor operation accordingly.
We in the R&D Cell are planning to implement an Automatic Periodic Bell Ring System within one month.
We are going provide an exposure on the internal circuitry of various electronic appliances like TV, Cameras, Smart Phones, Laptops, Microwave-Ovens …etc.
Our long time projects are
RFID based door control system for laboratories. Digital Academic Scheduler.
