The Civil engineering department has been in existence since 2011 the establishment of this institute. The department has an excellent infrastructure and is AICTE approved and accredited by the national board of accreditation. The department laboratory consists of Surveying, Geo technical Engineering, Concrete technology, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering geology, Applied mechanics, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics, Strength of materials and CADD labs.

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built infrastructure for fulfillment of Basic Needs of human race including Transportation, Communication, Energy production, Religious, Cultural, Sports and Community and Social and Developmental activities like bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. Department is the foremost in imparting Civil Engineering education in NECG.
